Local MLA Venigandla Ramu attended the tea party organized at Sarath Theater in Gudivada, Krishna District. Former MLA Kodali Nani occupied Sarath Theater in the town and set up Vaikapa office for the last five years. When the coalition government came, Sarath Talkies was taken over by the management. The MLA and TDP leaders attended the tea party on the invitation of one of the owners, former municipal chairman Yalavarthy Srinivasa Rao. The management removed Vaikapa Flexi and Kodali Nani photos from the theatre.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, MLA Ramu said that the rights holders of the theater have met him over the injustice done to them. He said that Vaikapa’s office has stood in the way of anarchy in Gudivada all these years. “People used to be afraid to come here. Finally, if the three claimants come to the theater, they will face threats. The followers of Kodali Nani have encroached upon the properties of the poor and middle class communities throughout the temple. Within 24 hours of coming to power, we handed over nine acres of land occupied by Kodali Nani to the claimants. TDEPA works on behalf of the people, there is no one in TDEPA who hopes for people’s money,” he explained.
Theater shareholder Yalavarthy Srinivasa Rao said… ‘After years I have come to take care of my property. We, who have a 75 percent share, have taken our problem to the notice of MLA Ramu and asked him to do justice. We will protect the property as the right of our partners,” he said.
