Telugu Movie News : Cinematographer turned actor, Dhanush holds his 50 th film “Raayan” for the theaters this Friday. Bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thalapathy, the film stars SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar among others; music rated and directed by Dhanush. In an interview with the Telugu media, Sundeep Kishan said that before the release of the film. Here’s what he had to say:

What character did you play in Raayan – can you describe your character briefly?
Honestly, I can’t share too much. You just have to witness it on the big screen. The role written for me was written with Dhanush Anna in mind and that I feel is a big compliment. It is a new type of work for me and definitely I shall do my best to see if my acting will be appreciated or not. The character is humorous but also complex with what would be considered a tragic backstory, and I also have some action scenes.
Why did the makers of the film name it Raayan?
It has our last name in the movie, see The Godfather. I proposed a new title for the Telugu version but Dhanush said that the change of name may mar the narrative. The shooting took place in Northern Madras; however, since he wanted to portray its true spirit, he insisted on using the original title of the show as well. As it has the same feeling like “Thiru” and “KGF”, “Raayan” will satisfy too.
How was it to work with Dhanush as a director, shall we say?
I must say that the film was quite a task to accomplish. The shoot was 90 days and I worked for 75 of those days. It was quite rigorous, and given the fact that I had a shoulder issue, it turned out to be quite a challenge. We shot in different places within a 20 KM radius which was new to me. Most of the directors I have worked with are Krishna Vamsi , Deva Katta, Raj and D. K, now Dhanush also joins the category. I gathered a lot from him e and everyone endeavored to assist him ensure that his dream was achieved.
You mentioned that you have many projects at the moment, could you elaborate on them?
I am now on my 30th film with the director Trinadha Rao Nakkina. It’s a family entertainer. I am also filming for “Maayavan,” which is a Kollywood sci-fi superhero motion picture. However, outside of that, I also work on a project with Swadharm Entertainment dubbed “Vibe” and that one is equally exciting.
