Pawan Kalyan Takes Charge As Deputy Chief Minister on June 19

Pawan Kalyan, leader of Janasena, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He will oversee Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Rural Water Supply, Environment, Forests, and Science & Technology.

He will officially assume office on June 19. Recent results show that Pawan Kalyan won the Pithapuram Assembly constituency, handily defeating YSRCP candidate Vanga Geetha with a margin of 70,279 votes. The N. Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition won 164 seats in the assembly elections, while the YSRCP took home 11 seats.

In the time since N. Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as chief minister, twenty-four ministers have taken an oath and started serving in the state government.
