Under this new visa, individuals can enjoy a stay of up to 60 days per visit in Indonesia. The Directorate General of Immigration has highlighted the flexibility of this visa, allowing holders to explore the country, visit family and friends, and participate in various events and meetings.
To avail themselves of this five-year multiple-entry option, applicants are required to pay a visa fee of $972 (IDR 15,000,000), and the payment process is conducted online. The Immigration department has expressly stated that this visa is designed exclusively for tourism and business purposes, explicitly prohibiting holders from engaging in employment with local employers while in Indonesia. Individuals seeking to work or stay for an extended period are advised to apply for alternative visa categories.
Stringent warnings have been issued by authorities, cautioning that failure to adhere to the visa regulations may result in fines, deportation, or legal charges. Indonesia is actively engaged in enhancing its visa policies to attract more international visitors. As part of a broader effort to boost tourism, the government is contemplating the possibility of lifting visa requirements for 20 countries, including Australia, India, China, South Korea, the UK, the US, as well as several Middle Eastern and European countries.

This online extension service encompasses various visa categories, including those for holidays, family visits, transit, medical treatment, foreign government officials’ trips, short courses and training, and international exhibitions. The streamlined and digital approach to visa extensions aligns with the global trend towards efficient and accessible online services, making it more convenient for travelers to manage their stay permits without the need for physical visits to immigration offices.
