A new visa-free group travel agreement signed recently is Moscow plan to increase the number of tourists from India. This is supposed to help increase the flow of the Indian tourists to the Russian capital by at least 30% said Evgeny Kozlov the First Deputy Head of the office of the mayor of Moscow and the government. According to Kozlov who is also the chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, exemplified this in an interview with ET. For the last year, foreign tourists, including Indians, visiting Moscow reached to over, Sixty Thousand and it increase of over twenty-five percent from the earlier year. Moscow is obviously expanding its toursim potentialities, the concentration of which is made on cultural and entertaining programs. The Moscow Tourism Development Program will require around 7% in tourist attendance in the city too. Targets aimed at event tourism are that it will attract 3 million visitors annually by the year 2030.Increased Flight Connectivity
Kozlov also pointed out that cooperation should intensify to increase the number of connecting flights from particular cities in India to Moscow. There is as much as 10 flights a week between India and Moscow with connectivity provided by Aeroflot that has a direct flight from New Delhi. At present, no Indian airline company is operating direct flights to Russia, but Kozlov anticipated that more Indian companies will be opening their flights in the future for tourism development.
