Ponguru Narayana is back as the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, taking charge at the Secretariat in Velagapudi. Having held the same position from 2014 to 2019, Narayana is continuing his efforts to develop Amaravati.

Upon resuming his role, Narayana said, “We’ll start rebuilding the capital soon. In the next 15 days, we’ll decide on a timeline. We’ll follow the old master plan.” He also mentioned, “The first phase of the project will cost Rs. 48,000 crores. The entire project will be completed in three phases, totaling one lakh crores. We will address road damage and theft issues, with a committee set up to investigate.”

Work on clearing the jungle in Amaravati is progressing quickly. Many buildings that were nearly finished in 2019 but left incomplete during Jagan’s rule are now being reviewed. Officials are checking their structural strength to prioritize their completion.

Narayana leadership aims to revive and complete the development of Amaravati, ensuring the capital’s infrastructure matches the original vision.
