MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy: Just a month ago, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, a dissatisfied YSR Congress Party MLA from Mangalagiri constituency, parted ways with the party due to the denial of an election ticket. Showing solidarity with Y S Sharmila, sister of YSRCP president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, he is anticipated to join the Congress soon.
Following this trend, another dissident YSRC MLA, Kapu Ramachandra Reddy, from Rayadurgam assembly constituency in Anantapur district, is now exploring options in the Congress party. On Tuesday, Ramachandra Reddy, accompanied by his wife Bharati and daughter-in-law Alekhya, met with former minister and Congress Working Committee member N. Raghuveera Reddy. During the discussions in Neelakanthapuram village, Raghuveera Reddy extended an invitation for Ramachandra Reddy to join the Congress, assuring him of a ticket from Rayadurgam and his son Praveen from Kalyanadurgam constituencies.
In all likelihood, the Kapu family is expected to formally join the Congress after meeting the AICC in-charge of Andhra affairs, Manickam Tagore, within the next couple of days.
Meanwhile, another YSRCP legislator from Penamaluru and former minister, Kolusu Parthasarathy, contemplates leaving the party after being denied a ticket in the upcoming elections. YSRCP president and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy proposed Parthasarathy contest the Lok Sabha elections from Machilipatnam, a suggestion he firmly rejected, expressing a desire to retain his Penamaluru seat.
As negotiations failed, Parthasarathy engaged in discussions with his followers and decided to align with the TDP. Contacting TDP legislators Velagapudi Ramakrishna and Bommasani Subba Rao, he negotiated terms for joining the TDP. It is speculated that he may secure a TDP ticket, either from Penamaluru or Nuzvid assembly constituencies.
