Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized on January 5 that the restoration of Andhra Pradesh’s past glory hinges on defeating the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in the upcoming elections. During a well-attended public meeting as part of the TDP’s ‘Raa Kadali Raa’ program in Prakasam district, Naidu asserted that the responsibility to achieve this lies not only with him and Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan but with the entire five crore population of the state.
In his address, Chandrababu Naidu attributed Andhra Pradesh’s lagging status among states to the failures of the YSRCP government, which, according to him, provided meager benefits to the people while burdening them with heavy losses. He urged the public to scrutinize the performances of both the TDP and YSRCP governments to draw conclusions about which party is genuinely committed and better equipped to address their concerns.
Chandrababu Naidu expressed his belief that Andhra Pradesh could become the No. 1 state in India, a feat achievable through the TDP, known for its track record of good governance and dedicated leadership. He criticized the YSRCP government for prioritizing welfare over development, emphasizing that wealth creation should be a government’s foremost priority.
Highlighting the shortcomings of the YSRCP regime, Chandrababu Naidu pointed out the absence of a job calendar, a decline in investments, and harmful policies adversely affecting the people. He lamented the deterioration of law and order, the rise of ganja cultivation hubs, and the escalating power tariffs that burdened the common populace.
Addressing the economic challenges, Chandrababu Naidu noted the steep increase in essential commodity prices, various tax hikes, and the staggering state debt of ₹13 lakh crore. He pitched the election of the TDP-JSP alliance as the remedy to this situation.
Chandrababu outlined promises made by the TDP, including the introduction of a special protection act’ for the Backward Classes (BCs), the abolition of the A.P. Land Titling Act, and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to reclaim grabbed lands. He assured the public of reduced liquor prices, quality alcohol sales, and social welfare schemes like ‘Aadabidda Nidhi’ and ‘Deepam’ for women turning 18. Farmers would receive ₹20,000 annually, while youth would benefit from a monthly unemployment allowance of ₹3,000. Naidu pledged the creation of 20 lakh jobs over five years, reinforcing the TDP’s commitment to a prosperous Andhra Pradesh.
