The Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), an initiative under the Government of Andhra Pradesh led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, extends diverse services to Non-Resident Telugus (NRTs) globally. Among these services is the Pravasandhra Bharosa Bima (PBB) Insurance scheme, designed to support NRTs pursuing education and careers abroad.
In a commendable move, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is currently offering overseas students from the state the opportunity to enroll in the PBB scheme for free until January 15, 2024. Recognizing the financial strain on students studying abroad, this initiative aims to provide a safety net for their well-being.
Students are strongly encouraged to seize this time-limited offer, given that the regular annual premium for the PBB scheme is Rs. 180. Starting January 16, there is a possibility of an increase in the premium and potential adjustments to the benefits provided.
Sri Venkat S Medapti, President of APNRTS, emphasized the significance of the PBB insurance scheme, acknowledging that families invest significantly in their children’s overseas education with dreams of a bright future. He highlighted that, in unfortunate situations abroad, the PBB insurance scheme offers life coverage of up to Rs. 10 lakhs.
Medapti urged students studying abroad or their families to enroll in the scheme promptly, emphasizing that PBB enrollment ensures financial assistance to families in case of unexpected fatalities.
Key benefits of the PBB insurance scheme include:
1. Financial Assistance: Rs. 10 lakh in case of accidental death or permanent disability.
2. Medical Coverage: Up to Rs. 1 lakh for injuries or sickness.
3. Travel Assistance: One-way economy air-ticket in case of non-continuation of studies due to sickness/accidental injury, along with additional benefits.
