Chandragiri’s TDP candidate, Pulivarthi Nani discharged from Tirupati Swims Hospital and has returned to his residence. Following his discharge, he promptly visited his injured security personnel. The attack occurred during Nani’s inspection of the strong room at Padmavati Mahila University in Tirupati, resulting in injuries to both Nani and his security team. TDP leaders have alleged that the assailants numbered over 150 and were armed with knives and rods.
In a show of solidarity, Amar Nath Reddy, former minister and TDP candidate for Palamaneru, visited Nani at Swims Hospital. Reddy condemned the attack, attributing it to fear of defeat on the part of Chevireddy’s family, implying their involvement. Criticism was also directed towards the police for allegedly favoring the YCP and failing to promptly arrest those responsible for the attack. Reddy demanded the immediate apprehension of the perpetrators and questioned the selective arrest of TDP leaders in contrast to the lack of action against YCP affiliates involved in the incident.
