YCP 3rd List: The anticipation surrounding the release of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party’s (YCP) third list has left many party legislators and MPs on edge, causing restless nights. A phone call from Tadepalli, the party’s headquarters, has become a source of heightened anxiety among leaders, as it could potentially entail either the denial of party tickets or stern admonishment for subpar performance and a lackluster score in the progress report.
In the next couple of days, party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to unveil the third list, and there are reports that he has already engaged in discussions with several elected representatives. Unusually, Jagan seems to be spearheading a significant reshuffling of party candidates, particularly affecting around 12 Lok Sabha aspirants and 13 Assembly seat contenders in the upcoming list. This round of reshuffling is expected to have a pronounced impact on elected representatives from the unified districts of Anantapur, Prakasam, and Nellore.
Jagan is adopting various strategies, including denying tickets to some aspirants and altering the constituencies of others. Interestingly, some MLAs are being directed to contest as MPs, while others are being asked to make the reverse transition. Jagan has reportedly communicated these changes to the concerned MLAs and MPs well in advance.
While such alterations are customary in political parties, the abnormality and scale of Jagan’s reshuffling have captured public and media attention. This extensive restructuring points towards a comprehensive overhaul of leadership within the party, indicating a strategic move by Jagan.
Facing the denial of party tickets, Mangalagiri MLA Aalla Ramakrishna Reddy and Rayadurg MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy have already resigned from both their political positions and the party at large. It is evident that Jagan, known for calculated moves, is not acting impulsively. The question arises: Who is advising Jagan on this massive reshuffle, and what political calculations are at play in this strategic maneuvering within the YCP?
