Balashouri joins TDP: The YSRCP is currently grappling with a challenging phase as the reshuffling of in-charges and candidates for both Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies has become a major headache for the party. Even senior leaders within the party express significant dissatisfaction with the decisions being made. Recently, Minister Gudivada Amarnath displayed his discontent, turning emotional and shedding tears as he had to vacate his Anakapalle constituency to accommodate Malashala Bharat. The wave of resignations from various leaders is causing considerable concern within the ruling party.
Adding to the woes, there are reports that Machilipatnam Lok Sabha MP Balashouri is considering a shift to the TDP. Balashouri, a senior leader with significant influence in the Guntur district, previously served as the Tenali MP from the Congress party under the leadership of late YSR in 2004. His potential departure from the YCP is anticipated to be a substantial setback for the party. According to sources, several sitting MLAs, MPs, and aspirants are contemplating switching their loyalties to the Opposition. Additionally, some are expected to align themselves with YS Sharmila, who is on the verge of joining the Congress and assuming leadership in Andhra Pradesh.
In recent developments, Amaravati MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, MLCs C Ramachandraiah, and Vamsi Krishna Yadav have already left the ruling party. This comes in addition to the earlier exits of MLA Vundavalli Sridevi (Tadikonda Assembly), Mekapati Chandra Sekhar Reddy (Udayagiri), Anam Ramanarayana Reddy (Venkatagiri constituency), and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, representing Nellore Rural. The series of departures presents a significant challenge for the YSRCP, raising questions about the party’s internal cohesion and the potential impact on its political standing in the state.
