Counting of votes started at 8:00 am on Saturday, and elaborate security arrangements were made in and around the counting centers.
Candidates of INDIA bloc parties, Congress, AAP, TMC, DMK — are leading in 11 out of the 13 assembly seats where bypolls were held earlier this week, as per counting trends available in the Election Commission website on Saturday.
Counting of votes for Assembly bypolls in 13 constituencies across seven states commenced on July 10 and is currently underway. The results are anticipated by Saturday evening. The by-polls have been held in constituencies falling in Tamil Nadu, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. Of the 13 contested seats, two each were earlier held by BJP, Congress, and Trinamool Congress, one each by BSP, Janata Dal (United), DMK, and AAP while Independents held the remaining three seats.
