At the moment, the focus of Madhya Pradesh police lies in analyzing past crime data with the help of AI techniques to keep crime under control in that state. For practical purposes, the Home Ministry has communicated with the state crime records bureau requesting for collection, mapping, and color-coding of all reported crime incidents in the last 12 months, followed by their analysis using appropriate AI software applications.
According to sources, The State Crime Records Bureau has all the crime data. It was mentioned by sources that once this data is processed through artificial intelligence it is able to assist one in recognizing hot spots, trends of crime within different localities so as to enhance resource allocation planning within these particular hot areas.
Once the data has been processed, it will be sent over to the district officers who will use findings from the different hotspots in their areas to prevent potential crime among other things like putting up surveillance systems, increasing patrol sections in certain places that are most affected by social vices during specific seasons. The analysis will then be evaluated for its impact and used to help prioritize the deployment of resources in order forestall crime, sources said. Criminal distribution hotspots are already prepared in the regions but according to Crime prevention analysis could be more accurate and specific. suppose an example place where many chain snatching incidents are reported but while the data is analyzing using AI tools it can also be a factor that maximum incident occurred in certain months of year or at particular time throughout the day.
