YS Sharmila finds herself at the intersection of personal celebrations and political engagements. Amidst the preparations for her son YS Raja Reddy’s upcoming wedding, Sharmila has not let her political commitments take a backseat. Recently, she paid a visit to Telangana Chief Minister and fellow Congress leader, Revanth Reddy, extending an invitation to her son’s wedding.
The meeting between Sharmila and Revanth at his Hyderabad residence was filled with mutual congratulations. Sharmila commended Revanth Reddy on assuming the role of Telangana’s new Chief Minister, while Revanth reciprocated the goodwill by congratulating Sharmila on her son’s impending marriage. During their interaction, Sharmila extended a formal invitation to Revanth for the wedding ceremony, which he graciously accepted.
Interestingly, Sharmila’s attempt to meet Revanth in Delhi on the day she joined the Congress party faced a hurdle due to his prior commitments with central ministers. However, this delay didn’t deter the meeting from happening in Hyderabad, showcasing the flexibility and camaraderie between the two leaders. The wedding, scheduled for February 18th in Hyderabad, adds an element of personal celebration to Sharmila’s hectic schedule.
It’s worth noting that before the elections, Sharmila and Revanth found themselves on opposite ends, exchanging verbal jabs as Sharmila led the YSRTP while Revanth spearheaded Congress’s campaign. However, political dynamics shifted when Sharmila merged the YSRTP into Congress. The past animosities seem to have given way to a pragmatic understanding, reinforcing the adage that in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies. As Sharmila and Revanth align their paths within the Congress fold, the landscape of regional politics witnesses yet another intriguing turn.
