Vidya Vasula Aham Review:

Rating: 2.5/5

Introduction:

“Vidya Vasula Aham,” featuring young actors Rahul Vijay and Shivani Rajasekhar, premiered today on the OTT platform Aha. Below is our detailed review to help you determine if this web film is worth watching.

Story:

Set in Vizag, the film revolves around Vidya (Shivani Rajasekhar), a confident woman with high standards for her future husband. She insists her parents find a groom who can pass her stringent tests. Vasu (Rahul Vijay), a Mechanical Engineer, meets her criteria, and they get married. However, their egos soon start to strain their relationship. The film explores how they navigate these issues and learn the importance of a healthy relationship.

Positives:

Rahul Vijay brings energy to his performance and shows decent comedic timing. Shivani Rajasekhar complements him well, delivering a satisfactory performance with a touch of glamour. The young pair fits their roles perfectly, and some well-crafted scenes add to the movie’s appeal. The music, at times, also enhances the overall experience.

Negatives:

Despite the film’s promising premise, the plot becomes predictable. The director misses an opportunity to elevate the movie with compelling dialogues and interactions between the lead characters. While Rahul Vijay’s performance is generally satisfactory, there are moments where he seems hyperactive and artificial. The supporting cast is underutilized, with limited screen time. The central theme of ego in relationships is not effectively harnessed to create engaging drama and humor. The screenplay feels sluggish, and the dialogues are poorly written, making the film feel lengthy despite its concise runtime.

Technical Aspects:

Director Manikanth Gelli selects a favorable script and a talented lead pair but fails to bring out their best through a more captivating screenplay. Kalyani Malik’s music is adequate but lacks memorability. Akhil Valluri’s cinematography and production values are satisfactory, though some scenes could have benefited from tighter editing by Satya Giduturi.

Verdict:

Overall, “Vidya Vasula Aham” is a disappointing film despite the decent performances from the lead actors. The lackluster story and poor execution diminish its appeal. Unnecessary scenes, a weak screenplay, and forced dialogues further hamper the movie’s prospects. It is recommended to explore alternative entertainment options.
