On Day 13 of the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat faced a tough challenge in the Men’s 57kg semi-finals. He lost to Japan’s Rei Higuchi, who quickly asserted dominance by securing a 10-0 victory within minutes, thanks to technical superiority. Despite this setback, Sehrawat will have another chance to shine as he competes for the bronze medal in his next bout.
When the Indian men’s hockey team provided quite an entertaining finish to the match they beat Spain with a scoreline of 2-1 in the bronze medal match earlier in the day. It would be remiss not to highlight the contribution of Harmanpreet Singh, who emerged as the hero, scoring both goals for India which put them in a position to claim another successive Olympic bronze medal. This win brought greater joy for Indian hockey since it first won medals in two consecutive failures of the Olympics in the history of the Olympic games.
