latest cricket news : The new coach Gautam Gambhir had a video call with the BCCI to talk about his plans for Team India. Cricbuzz says the call included Gambhir people from the selection team led by Ajit Agarkar, and BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
They talked about picking players for the upcoming games with Sri Lanka. Big names like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will get a break. This means guys like Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, who didn’t play in the T20 World Cup, might get a chance to play.
Even though Rohit Sharma might not play in the series, there’s a chance he could join. Since Hardik Pandya, the vice-captain, can’t play because he’s hurt, people think KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav might lead the team for these games.
At the meeting, Gambhir talked about how important it is for players to be committed. He told everyone what kind of players he wants making it clear that being committed is super important.
The games between India and Sri Lanka start on July 27. They’ll play three One Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals.
