Indian Latest Cricket News : Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has expressed confidence in the longevity of both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in international cricket. According to Harbhajan, Kohli’s exceptional fitness could see him playing for another five years, while he believes Rohit, the current Test and ODI captain, has at least two more years left at the top level. “Rohit can easily play for two more years. With Virat’s fitness, he could continue for five years. He’s probably the fittest guy in the team,” Harbhajan said in an interview with PTI.
He stressed the fact that they must have exposure in test cricket and that should be the reason they should stick with players like Kohli and Rohit. He also said that fitness and performance are still paramount, but any player who is not contributing should be given a new door and they should make way for youngsters. Harbhajan replied, That is an individual decision, but selectors are there to judge who is capable of performing at what age. He especially lauded Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill calling them hungry players termed as most potential ones.
After India’s recent poor performance when the Indian cricket team made a 0-2 ODI loss against Sri Lanka, instead of booing the team and questioning their abilities, Harbhajan said that this is the way in sports one has to take some ups and downs and also appreciated Sri Lanka’s good showing.
