In the men’s singles bronze medal match at the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen faced Malaysia’s seventh seed, Lee Zii Jia. Despite a strong start, Lakshya Sen couldn’t secure the victory.
Lakshya Sen won the first game 21-13 and seemed to be in control with an 8-3 lead in the second game. But he unfortunately lost the second game 21-16. There are moments in the match that concerned a right-arm problem of Lakshya that caused him to have medical timeouts. In the third match, it was 11-21 and thus he failed to be the first Indian male shuttler to win an Olympic medal. Still, the defeat could have been avoided and Lakshya Sen gives a good account of himself as he struggled to the bitter end.
