Indian shooters Maheshwari Chauhan and Raiza Dhillon finished 14th and 23rd respectively in the women’s skeet qualifications at the Paris Olympics on Sunday. Maheshwari scored a total of 118 points over five series, with scores of 23, 24, 24, 25, and 22. Raiza scored 113 points with scores of 21, 22, 23, 23, and 24. Only the top six shooters advanced to the finals.
Italy’s Diana Bacosi, the 2016 Rio Olympic gold medalist, also did not make it to the finals, finishing just behind Maheshwari in 15th place with 117 points.
On the first day, Maheshwari was in eighth place with an aggregate of 71, but despite scoring 25 on Sunday, she fell short of qualifying. Raiza was in 25th place with a total of 66 points.
Currently, Vijayveer Sidhu and Anish Bhanwala are competing in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol qualifications.
