Their race ended at the 33.4km mark due to multiple infractions for loss of contact and bent knees. Earlier in the day, Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the 50kg women’s wrestling event after weighing slightly over the limit. She was set to face Sarah Ann Hildebrandt from the United States in the gold medal match. Despite efforts to make weight, she tipped the scales above 50kg. The Indian contingent requested privacy for Phogat and refocused on upcoming events.
