Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, the captain, helped India beat Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the fourth T20 game. This win gave India a 3-1 lead in the five-match series. India has now won by 10 wickets against Zimbabwe twice at this place, with the first time being in 2016.
Jaiswal hit a quick 93 runs, while Gill stayed calm and scored 58 not out. Together, they chased down 153 runs in just 15.2 overs making it look easy.
Jaiswal’s bold batting matched well with Gill’s calm approach. The guy from Mumbai smashed the ball to all parts of the field, not looking rusty at all even though he didn’t play in the T20 World Cup. His cool back-drive against Sikandar Raza and a big hit for six off Richard Ngarava were the best parts of his innings. Jaiswal got to his fifty fast, which let Gill take it easy and play second fiddle.
Zimbabwe’s bowlers had a tough time dealing with the Indian openers. The way Jaiswal and Gill batted together made sure India would win . Gill also scored his fifty, but there weren’t enough runs left for Jaiswal to get a hundred.
Before, India’s part-time bowlers Shivam Dube and Abhishek Sharma helped to keep Zimbabwe’s score down to 152 for seven. Raza tried to fight back with 46 runs off 28 balls, but Dube (1/11 in 2 overs) and Abhishek (1/20 in 3 overs) didn’t let Zimbabwe get away. They got rid of openers Wesley Madhevere (25) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (32), who had given Zimbabwe a good start by scoring 63 runs together.
Tushar Deshpande had a tough time at first in his first game, but he got Raza out with a slow ball. Zimbabwe’s guys in the middle couldn’t build on the good start, and they didn’t get enough runs to challenge India. Rinku Singh and Washington Sundar also helped by taking some key wickets, which kept India in charge the whole time.
To sum up, India’s young players showed what they can do with the bat and ball. They won the series and proved they’re way better than Zimbabwe.
