Jay Shah, who’s in charge of paperwork for the BCCI, gave a pat on the back to Shubman Gill and his buddies for beating Zimbabwe in their five-game T20I series. This all went down at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were on fire, both hitting more than fifty runs without getting out. They helped India crush Zimbabwe by 10 wickets putting India ahead 3-1 in the series.
In the fourth T20I, Zimbabwe scored 152/7 in 20 overs. India then reached 156 in just 15.2 overs, with Jaiswal (93 not out) and Gill (58 not out) leading the charge. This gave India a big win with 28 balls left.
Jay Shah posted on social media to praise the team’s win. He said, “What a way to clinch the T20I series! Top stuff from our young guns! Yashasvi and Shubman were spectacular in the run chase. Congratulations to the entire team and support staff on a fantastic series win.”

India put together a young squad for this series, with Shubman Gill as captain leaving out most of the big names who helped India win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Things didn’t start well for India in the series opener, as they got bowled out for 102 while trying to chase down 116. But they turned things around in the next game, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s hundred beating Zimbabwe by 100 runs to make the series 1-1.
India kept winning in the third T20I, because Washington Sundar bowled well. This helped them win by 23 runs and get ahead 2-1. Then, Jaiswal and Gill hit the ball great in the fourth game, which made sure India won the whole series.
