The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said no to fast bowler Naseem Shah’s request to play in The Hundred. They’re worried about him getting too tired, according to what some people told Geo News. They made this choice after looking at Naseem’s ask, trying to stop him from getting hurt since he plays all types of cricket for Pakistan and had some health problems last year.
Naseem had to have surgery on his shoulder in October 2023. This meant he couldn’t play in the ICC World Cup 2023 because he needed four to six weeks to get better. This injury kept him out of the game for about three to four months.
Pakistan is getting ready for big World Test Championship games coming up. They start with matches against Bangladesh in August.
Jason Gillespie, who coaches Pakistan’s Test team, dropped a hint that Shaheen Shah Afridi, their star fast bowler, might skip the Test series against Bangladesh. This is because Shaheen’s wife is about to have a baby. Gillespie said they’re okay with giving Shaheen some time off to be with his family during this special time.
Besides Test matches, Pakistan will start playing one-day and T20 games again in November. Their opponent will be Australia.
