latest indian cricket news : Mohsin Naqvi, who runs the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), wants to ask India to play some T20 games at a place that’s not in either country in 2025. He’s gonna talk about this idea with Jay Shah, who’s in charge of India’s cricket board when they meet up in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from July 19-22 for a big cricket meeting. Naqvi thinks they could fit these T20 matches into the days when both teams aren’t busy after a big tournament called the Champions Trophy.
The meeting is super important. It’s gonna talk about maybe moving Champions Trophy games because of safety worries. India’s government and the BCCI have brought up problems with the Indian team going to Pakistan. The PCB says all Champions Trophy matches with India could happen in Lahore. They want the team to stay in one hotel to keep them safer.
Also, the PCB got some land close to the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore. They’re planning to build a fancy hotel there. They want to finish it next year. This hotel would mean teams don’t have to stay far away anymore. So, they wouldn’t need to close roads to keep everyone safe.
Naqvi and Jay Shah are going to talk about whether India can go to Pakistan during the ICC meeting. But it’s not up to the BCCI to make the final call – the Indian government will decide. Last year, India said no to going to Pakistan for the Asia Cup so they ended up playing in Sri Lanka instead.
India and Pakistan haven’t played a series just between them since 2012. They face each other in ICC or ACC events because the Indian government won’t let them play more often than that.
