In a dazzling display of skill and teamwork, Dabang Delhi K.C. delivered a clinical performance, securing a resounding 35-25 victory against the U.P. Yoddhas in Noida on Saturday in Pro Kabaddi League. The triumph was especially noteworthy as it occurred without the presence of their star raider, Naveen.
Head Coach Rambir Singh Khokhar expressed the challenges of playing without Naveen, acknowledging his significant contribution to the team’s success. Khokhar stated, “It’s difficult to play without Naveen because he’s such a good raider and scores a lot of points for us. However, Ashu has taken up his mantle, and the defense unit’s support helped us defeat the Yoddhas.”
Pro Kabaddi Stand-in Captain Ashu Malik, who exhibited an outstanding performance with 11 raid points in the match, discussed the team’s strategy in the absence of Naveen. “Our coach told me that I needed to take Naveen’s responsibilities since he was not there, and Manjeet needed to take my role. Everyone played really well, and our defense unit supported the raiders brilliantly,” said Malik.
Highlighting the team’s depth in raiding talent, Malik added, “We have a lot of good raiders on the side. There’s Meetu Sharma, Manjeet, and myself. Additionally, there are good raiders on our bench as well. And everyone has been in good form.”
Despite the absence of star raider Naveen, the Delhi side’s defense unit showcased brilliance against the Yoddhas. However, defender Mohit faced a rare game without scoring a tackle point. When asked about Mohit’s performance, Coach Khokhar emphasized the multifaceted role played by Mohit in the team’s success.
“Mohit carried out his role exceptionally. It’s not only about scoring tackle points. He supported the defenders in catching raiders against U.P. Yoddhas. And he has been scoring tackle points regularly as well. He has also caught top raiders such as Pawan Sehrawat,” stated the Head Coach.
The victory against the U.P. Yoddhas demonstrated the depth and resilience of the Dabang Delhi K.C. squad. The ability to secure a decisive win without their star raider underscored the team’s adaptability and the emergence of key players to fill crucial roles.
As the Pro Kabaddi League season unfolds, the performance of stand-in Captain Ashu Malik, the support from the defense unit, and the all-encompassing contributions of players like Mohit become integral narratives in Dabang Delhi K.C.’s journey. With each player stepping up in the face of challenges, the team continues to solidify its position as a formidable contender in the league. The absence of Naveen, while challenging, has become an opportunity for other talents to shine, painting a promising picture for Dabang Delhi K.C. in the ongoing season.
