Jadeja put up a post on Instagram on Tuesday saying, “Whatever I’m doing on the field… it’s a tribute to you.” His mom died back in 2005 when Jadeja was still trying to make it big in youth cricket. Just hours after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on June 29, Jadeja decided to hang up his boots in T20 Internationals.
Jadeja played his first T20I game in February 2009 against Sri Lanka. Throughout his career, he took part in 74 matches grabbing 54 wickets with an average of 29.85 and hitting 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16 in T20Is.

He had his best bowling game against Scotland in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup where he got three wickets and gave up 15 runs in four overs. His top batting show happened against England in 2022 when he scored 46 runs from 29 balls helping India win by 49 runs.
Jadeja is one of India’s best all-rounders. He’s played in 343 international games scoring 6,307 runs with a 32.67 average. This includes four hundreds and 33 fifties, with his top score being 175 not out. He’s also grabbed 568 wickets averaging 29.30, with his best bowling being 7/42. Jadeja was crucial to India winning the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024.
