Sanju Samson, the guy helping lead India’s T20I team in Zimbabwe, talked about being on the team that just won the T20 World Cup. He said he still feels happy about their win in Barbados and called it an amazing thing to be part of. “I’m still feeling all the emotions. The pictures are everywhere. It was such a cool thing to be part of. I couldn’t stop grinning. I feel lucky to have been on the team. Everyone who helped out deserves credit. The whole team worked together to make it happen,” Samson told the people doing the broadcast.
Samson talked about team changes, like bringing Mukesh Kumar and Riyan Parag into the mix, and his job as Shubman Gill’s right-hand man. He said, “We’ll move some people around in the batting order hoping to get some time to play. I’ve been in charge of RR for four years now.”
He also mentioned, “We’ve had some great players. I look after both the experienced guys and the newbies. You start to get cricket a bit more. When you’re the boss, you think about the other players and the whole team too. I’ve been getting better at it.”
Zimbabwe’s fast-bowler Richard Ngarava says he feels good after getting over some health problems. “I’ve worked hard in the last month. I had trouble with my knee so I’m pretty happy to be playing again. You pick up a lot when you play in the (T20) leagues. You meet tons of coaches and people who help you stay fit. You learn a bunch of new stuff. In the end, you just want to do the basic things better.”
When someone asked about how well he bowls with Blessing Muzarabani, Ngarava said, “We’ve been in the same academy, it’s been working for us for ages. He’s the guy who cheers me up when I’m down and I do the same for him when he’s feeling low. With any luck, we’ll keep getting people out. Maybe we can both take five wickets in one game.”
