Travel tips: Now, how does one answer this question at both locations across the state?
Each is unique and has a different kind of charm.
Goa, being a southern state of India, itself ranks amongst the top places for tourism in the country. The word Goa instantly flashes beaches and luxurious holidays in our minds, and here comes a small question that most of us face: North Goa or South Goa?
The prominent electronic dance music festival, Sunburn, recently announced that it is going to shift to South Goa this winter. A big controversy erupted with many coming out against the plan, including Opposition MLAs, while Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the state government will take the final decision.
There are several beaches to the north and the south of Goa. All of these beaches have their different charms and different attractions to offer.
North Goa:
When it comes to North Goa, you must understand that you are never alone. The beaches here are crowded most of the time, even at night. However, many people recommend several of the beaches here since they provide a variety of water activities, which include paragliding, parasailing, and scuba diving, as well as banana boat excursions and kayaking.
Beaches such as Vagator, Calangute, Candolim, Anjuna, and Baga are about perfect to make your holiday memorable. Also, whenever you happen to be here in Goa, never miss out on the Saturday night market at Arpora and Anjuna flea Market.
If you would not like to waste your time merely lazing on the beach, North Goa is the place to be.
Beaches in South Goa are an experience in themselves. From Butterfly and Palolem to Colva, Majorda, and Benaulim amongst others, provide the tranquil and serene atmosphere that most of the tourists come looking for during their entire trip. Relax, sunbathe, and walk on the beaches—this is an excellent location to do so with family and friends. It is the place for those in love with wildlife safaris and trekking. Here, there is the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary and the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.
