Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) received a generous donation of Rs 30 lakh worth of ghee on Tuesday, a contribution that will play a significant role in preparing one lakh Tirupati laddus. These laddus are slated to be distributed to devotees during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.
The TTD board member, Saurabh Bora, took the initiative to donate the substantial quantity of ghee and expressed the wish that it be used for crafting the laddus intended for distribution among the devotees of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.
The announcement from the Tirupati trust came last week, outlining its plans to distribute one lakh Tirupati laddus, each weighing 25 grams, to both VVIPs and devotees participating in the consecration ceremony at the Ayodhya temple.
The renowned Tirupati laddus, distinguished with the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, hold a special place in the hearts of Hindu devotees worldwide and are highly coveted as prasadam.
On a daily basis, the Tirupati trust prepares approximately 4 lakh laddus, each weighing 175 grams, which are distributed among the devotees visiting Tirumala. Additionally, about 7,000 Srivari Kalyanotsavam laddus, weighing between 700 to 750 grams, are crafted and distributed daily. The trust further produces 75,000 small laddus, distributed free of cost to the devotees visiting the hill temple.
This significant donation of ghee for the preparation of the Tirupati laddus underscores the communal spirit and devotion of individuals like Saurabh Bora, contributing to the grandeur of the upcoming Ayodhya temple consecration ceremony. The laddus, with their sacred significance and delicious taste, serve as a symbol of the religious and cultural heritage that binds devotees together in celebration.
