BJP alliance with TDP: Since Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu returned from his New Delhi visit to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah last week, there’s been talk that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants more MP and MLA tickets in Andhra Pradesh’s elections to join the TDP-Jana Sena Party alliance.
Even though there’s been no official word from the TDP, BJP, or Jana Sena Party regarding the alliance or seat sharing, sources say the BJP lacks sufficient candidates for the elections despite seeking more seats.
In the past day, a list of potential candidates has been circulating, but only for four MP seats and eight MLA seats. The BJP has reportedly finalized candidates like G. V. L. Narasimha Rao for Visakhapatnam and Daggubati Purandeshwari for Rajahmundry for MP seats, and others for assembly seats.
Whether this list was finalized after consulting Naidu or if the BJP proposed these names remains unclear. Despite presenting a bold stance to the TDP-BJP alliance, the BJP seems to lack candidates in reality.
