If we go into the details… a person named V Chalapati Rao from Hyderabad used to do a small job as a computer operator in State Bank of India in 2004. But the greedy Chalapati Rao. He stole Rs.50 lakhs from the bank. The bank officials came to know about this and filed a complaint with the police. But Chalapathirao was able to convince the police that he did not steal for some time. Police investigation revealed that Chalapathirao’s wife helped him in the bank robbery case. But it was already late. Chalapati Rao left Hyderabad overnight.
The police also filed two chargesheets in the case on December 31, 2004. No matter how hard they searched for Chalapati Rao, the police did not know his whereabouts. The reason was that Chalapati Rao used to leave his village and go to another place every month or two. After seven years, Chalapathy Rao’s wife filed a case in the Hyderabad Civil Court that her husband was dead. According to the law, if a person is not seen for seven years, the court declares him dead. The court ruled in favor of Chalapathy Rao’s wife’s petition. Chalapathy Rao was declared dead.
On the other hand, in 2007, Chalapati Rao married another woman in a small village called Salem in Tamil Nadu and was living by doing a small job locally. But he changed his name to Vineet Kumar so that no one gets suspicious. He also took Aadhaar card in the name of Vineet Kumar. In 2014, this case came to the hands of CBI. The CBI officials tapped Chalapathy Rao’s wife’s phone. Just found out. Chalapathy Rao calls his first wife from Tamil Nadu two days a week. CBI officials traced Chalapathirao’s wife’s phone and reached Salem village.
But the crafty Chalapathirao sensed the arrival of the police and escaped again. After that he settled in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. There he got a job as a loan recovery agent. After working there for a while, he was shifted to Uttarakhand state by new friends. There he worked in a school in Rudrapur for almost two years. But the CBI officials reached Rudrapur in search of him. But Chalapati Rao ran away again and became a monk in an ashram in the city of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. This time he changed his name to Vidhitamananda Tirdha Swami. He also got Aadhaar card in this name.
In 2021, he stole Rs. 70 lakhs from the Aurangabad Ashram and fled to Bharatpur in Rajasthan. He made some disciples there and became a great Swamiji. After that he returned to Tamil Nadu with a disciple. He established a base in Narasinganallur village near Tiranel Veli in Tamil Nadu. But the CBI officials searched for Chalapathi Rao without persistence. Finally on August 4, 2024 they reached Rasinganallur village and grabbed Chalapathi Rao by the neck. After that, cases of theft and fraud were registered against him and he was produced in the Hyderabad court. Currently, the court sent him to remand.
