Karnataka’s Home Minister, Dr. G Parameshwara, disclosed on Wednesday the issuance of an arrest warrant for JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna. Revanna the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, is the prime suspect in a scandal involving sex videos that has stirred controversy in Karnataka.
According to SIT sources Prajwal Revanna has arranged to fly back to Bengaluru on a Lufthansa Airlines flight scheduled to land around 12:30 A.M. on Friday May 31, having booked the ticket from Munich Germany.
When asked about the possibility of Prajwal Revanna meeting his grandfather upon his return the Karnataka Home Minister stated that immediate arrest awaits him upon arrival at the airport.
Parameshwara stressed the necessity of taking action in the case noting the warrant issuance and the subsequent arrest and legal procedures, including recording his statement.
Regarding the arrest of two Congress workers involved in distributing pen drives containing the video, Parameshwara emphasized the SIT’s commitment to apprehending all individuals involved in the scandal, regardless of political affiliations.
As of now approximately 11 to 12 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
