EVM Thrown Into Pond in Kultali
In Kultali, South 24 Parganas, a mob seized and threw an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) into a pond after polling agents were allegedly blocked from entering booths. New EVMs were quickly provided to continue voting.

In Sandeshkhali, women armed with sticks protested against alleged threats from TMC activists, while state police reported that the unrest started after BJP supporters attacked civic volunteers. In Diamond Harbour, clashes between TMC and BJP supporters occurred, with accusations of electoral fraud flying from both sides.
Further Incidents
In Jadavpur, CPI(M) workers claimed they were attacked by TMC activists, who also ransacked their offices. In Canning, TMC and BJP supporters clashed, resulting in stone-pelting and injuries.
Suvendu Adhikari and BJP IT chief Amit Malviya shared videos accusing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of using party goons and police to intimidate voters.
Voting began for nine seats, with prominent candidates including Mr. Banerjee from Diamond Harbour. Over 1,000 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and nearly 2,000 quick response teams were deployed to maintain order.
The final phase of voting was marked by violence and tension, reflecting the high stakes in West Bengal’s elections. Attention now turns to the vote counting and results.
