Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been in the news after being arrested for his alleged involvement in a murder case in Karnataka. Now, his long-time partner, Pavithra Gowda, has also been detained by Bengaluru police in connection with the case.
Pavithra Gowda and 10 others have been taken into custody. There are conflicting reports about Pavithra’s relationship with Darshan; some sources call her his wife, while others describe her as his long-time partner.

Darshan, 47, and Pavithra, along with others, are suspected of planning the murder of Renuka Swamy. Darshan was arrested in Mysuru and brought to Bengaluru for questioning. Reports suggest that three individuals confessed to the murder, claiming they acted on Darshan’s instructions.
Pavithra is currently being questioned at the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station. While media reports say she has been arrested, there is no official confirmation yet.
Who Was the Victim?
Renuka Swamy, the victim, was found dead near Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. He worked at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga and had allegedly sent offensive messages to Pavithra Gowda. Police sources say Darshan was arrested at a Mysuru hotel in connection with the murder.
the victim was lured to Darshan’s farmhouse in Mysuru, where he was tortured and killed. His body was then dumped in a drain in Kamakshipalya two months ago. Local residents alerted the police, leading to the discovery of the murder. The autopsy confirmed that Renuka Swamy was murdered.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda, quoted by news agency ANI, stated, “In connection with a murder case registered in Kamakshipalya Police Station limits of Bengaluru West division on June 9th, one of the actors from the Kannada film industry has been secured and is being questioned. The details are yet to be ascertained, and the matter is under investigation. Renuka Swamy (33) from Chitradurga is the victim. Around 10 people are detained, and they are being questioned. The details are awaited…”
