Vijay Sethupathi, last seen in the black comedy film Merry Christmas, is all set for the release of his 50th film, Maharaja. This big movie hits theaters on June 14th, and the makers have just dropped the release trailer.
In Maharaja, the main character runs a saloon and files a missing person’s report with the police. During the investigation, the cops realize there’s more to this case than meets the eye. He keeps pushing the police to ramp up their search for Lakshmi, who stays mysterious even in the new trailer. Anurag Kashyap appears as a ruthless dacoit. But what’s the link between them?
Director Nithilan Saminathan shines in both writing and directing. The trailer keeps you hooked from start to finish. Vijay Sethupathi delivers an outstanding performance, and Anurag Kashyap is just as impressive.
From the trailer, it looks like Maharaja blends action and emotion perfectly. Dinesh Purushothaman’s cinematography and B Ajaneesh Loknath’s background score are major highlights. Produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy, the movie has been made on a grand scale with a huge budget. NVR Cinema grabbed the Telugu rights for the film.
