Four-time MLA from Macherla Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has turned into a questionable figure in the current year’s political race following a viral video showing him obliterating an Electronic Democratic Machine (EVM). In light of potential legal repercussions Pinnelli sought relief from the Andhra Pradesh High Court resulting in a mixed outcome.
On the positive side the court has granted Pinnelli temporary protection from arrest ordering the Andhra Pradesh police not to detain him until June 5th. This decision stems from an anticipatory bail petition filed by the MLA ensuring he is safe from immediate police action for now.
However the court has also placed significant restrictions on Pinnelli’s movements. He is prohibited from visiting the Macherla counting station on June 4th and must stay within the Narsaraopeta parliamentary segment until June 6th. The court has ordered the police to closely monitor Pinnelli during this period.Although Pinnelli hasn’t been put under arrest straight away, the court’s orders have significantly limited his movement around Macherla.
