Actress and BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut cast her vote in the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, confident that the BJP will win all four seats in Himachal Pradesh. Running for the Mandi seat, Ranaut highlighted the strong support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the state.
After voting, Kangana urged people to vote, saying, “I ask everyone to use their right to vote in this democratic festival. Many have sacrificed for this right.”
She continued, “There is a strong Modi wave in Himachal Pradesh. Our Prime Minister has held nearly 200 rallies and given 80-90 interviews in just two months.”
Confident in BJP’s Success
Believing in BJP’s “400 paar” slogan for the 2024 elections, she said, “We are soldiers of PM Modi and will win all four seats in Himachal Pradesh.”
Kangana also criticized the opposition for their comments on Prime Minister Modi’s two-day meditation break in Kanniyakumari. She defended him, saying, “Meditation is not new for the Prime Minister. Even before he was a politician, he meditated. Now they have a problem with that too.”
Kangana entry into politics brings attention to the Mandi parliamentary seat. She is running against Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, son of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh. The seat is currently held by Pratibha Devi Singh, Virbhadra Singh’s wife, who won in a by-election after the death of BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma.
Voting Across Himachal Pradesh
The four Lok Sabha constituencies in Himachal Pradesh Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, and Shimla are voting in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections today. Additionally, by-elections are being held in six assembly seats in the state.
The results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be announced on June 4.
