Tech magnate Elon Musk has raised worries about the antagonistic impacts of extreme virtual entertainment use on Children. Speaking at the VivaTech fair in Paris Musk emphasized the need for regulating children’s exposure to social media platforms due to the potential harm they pose.
Musk highlighted the vulnerability of children to sophisticated AI algorithms designed to increase user engagement by manipulating dopamine levels. He urged parents to limit their children’s social media consumption citing intense competition among social media platforms to maximize dopamine release.
Musk, who has nine children admitted to not previously restricting his kids’ social media use but now advocates for greater oversight acknowledging potential negative influences from platforms like Reddit and YouTube. Additionally Musk criticized Meta’s Facebook and Instagram accusing them of enabling child exploitation through their features.
