Mussoorie welcomed the launch of Nakshatra Sabha India pioneering astro tourism campaign, at the scenic George Everest Peak on Saturday, June 1. The George Everest Peak, renowned for its stunning vistas of the snowy Himalayan peaks and the tranquil Doon Valley, stands as a beloved tourist destination in Mussoorie.
This event, co-organized by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and Starscapes, India’s leading Astro tourism company, will run until June 2. Following this inaugural event, similar astro tourism gatherings are planned across the country, including Harsil-Jadung, Benital, Rishikesh, Jageshwar, and Ramnagar.
Attendees can enjoy a range of activities, from learning astrophotography skills from experts to observing stars through specialized instruments. Additionally, they can witness solar phenomena through solar glasses and H-Alpha filters, along with engaging in navigation and timekeeping sessions. The event also offers enlightening talks on astro tourism, exciting astrophotography competitions, and captivating astronomical displays.
This initiative echoes the vision of Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, to diversify tourism beyond religious sites. Satpal Maharaj, the Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand, emphasizes the government’s dedication to ensuring visitors depart with enriching experiences. He underscores the importance of developing new tourist destinations within the state to bolster the allure of the tourism sector.
