Telangana ruling Congress is currently concentrating on expanding the state Cabinet and choosing a new state president after the Lok Sabha elections. In order to review the results of the most recent Lok Sabha elections and the impending enlargement of the Cabinet, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy travelled to New Delhi for a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
Having completed six months in office, CM Revanth Reddy and his 11 Cabinet colleagues, sworn in on December 7, 2023, are eager for the long-awaited expansion. While discussions on this issue occurred during previous visits to Delhi, no decisions were made due to the election preparations.
Now that the elections are finished, focus is on confirming six government positions. Up to 18 ministers, including the Chief Minister, can be accommodated by the state, and requests for representation, particularly for underrepresented communities and areas, are coming from a variety of sources. A Muslim leader would also be appointed as part of the preparations, because there was no Muslim Congress candidate in the Assembly elections. Prominent figures such as Madhu Yaskhi Goud and Jagga Reddy are also in queue for Cabinet posts.
CM Revanth Reddy may address issues about the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Presidency and is anticipated to obtain central leadership clearance for filling nominated seats. Though there were talks to replace TPCC President Revanth Reddy with a new chief minister, nothing concrete was done until after the Lok Sabha elections.
