A man was left astounded when he discovered approximately Rs. 9,900 crores in his bank account. I had a very strange encounter that happened in Badohi district of Uttar Pradesh. Bhanu Prakash, who holds a Kisan credit card loan account with the local Bank of Baroda, found his account marked as a non-performing asset (NPA) by the bank. Due to a software glitch, his account erroneously displayed a balance of Rs. 99,99,94,95,999.99.
Shocked by the massive figure, Bhanu Prakash promptly notified bank officials. The bank quickly took action to rectify the mistake.
“We clarified to Bhanu Prakash that the unusual amount was a result of a software error. We have implemented corrective measures and placed a hold on the account to prevent any misuse,” explained Bank Manager Rohit Gautam.
He further elaborated, “NPA accounts are subject to certain restrictions. Typically, we freeze these accounts to avoid further complications. When Bhanu Prakash checked his account, it appeared negative due to NPA sanctions. We have since addressed the issue and corrected the error.”
