Went back to that episode on the sets of ‘Raam Leela’ particularly the shooting of the song Lahu Munh Lag Gaya. Deepika Padukone is most popular Bollywood actors still respects and cares for her fellow performers which left a wonderful impression on Kelkar. In “Raam Leela” Deepika has give her best and the best part of the film are her powerful Garba performances.
Most might not be aware that Deepika suffered an injury while shooting this film yet made a great effort to assist another dancer performing in the film, Sharad Kelkar. Kelkar said this in an interview and he shares an example which made him respect Deepika even more. He had just recovered from knee surgery and his physiotherapist had warned him that he should not sit down through which ever position Garba required. At the same time Deepika was dancing and she was half-naked and was dancing with bare feet but she had blue marks on her feet which were taped so that she can bear the pain.
So she remained shooting in this condition for 11 days. Their shared memories of being patronized by their respective husbands helped her draw closer to him confide in him, and contribute towards his increased respect for her. This incident revealed the best about Deepika professional ability as well as her empathetic nature towards colleagues.
