Bad Cop, featuring Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah in lead roles, is a crime thriller directed by Aditya Datt. The series will stream soon on Disney+ Hotstar.
On Thursday, Anurag Kashyap posted a mysterious message on Instagram, hinting that he was shifting from filmmaking to acting as a ‘bad guy.’ Just hours later, the trailer for Nithilan Swaminathan’s revenge saga *Maharaja* was released, showing Kashyap in a complex role alongside Vijay Sethupathi. Now, the teaser for another project with Kashyap as the ‘bad guy’ has been unveiled.
Bad Cop Teaser
Disney+ Hotstar has released the teaser for its upcoming crime thriller series, *Bad Cop*. The teaser shows Anurag in a gangster-like role, brandishing a gun, smoking, and dancing with a sinister expression. Gulshan Devaiah, who plays a cop named Karan, is also featured. Interestingly, Karan seems to have a split personality, with his darker side called Arjun, referencing the 1995 film *Karan Arjun* starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
Anurag and Gulshan Collaboration
Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah have a history together. Gulshan made his debut in Anurag’s 2010 film *The Girl In Yellow Boots*, which also starred Anurag’s former wife, Kalki Koechlin, who introduced Gulshan to Anurag.
This isn’t the first time Anurag has played a villain on screen. He has previously portrayed bad guys in the 2016 action thriller Akira starring Sonakshi Sinha, the 2018 Tamil action thriller Imaikka Nodigal starring Nayanthara, and the ZEE5 crime drama Haddi starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. After his role against Nawazuddin, Anurag will now face off against Gulshan, another actor he introduced to Hindi cinema.
Directed by Aditya Datt, who previously worked with Gulshan in the 2019 action film *Commando 3*, *Bad Cop* also stars Harleen Sethi, who was recently seen in Sudip Sharma’s thriller *Kohrra* on Netflix India.
Besides *Bad Cop*, Gulshan will appear in *Ulajh*. Meanwhile, Anurag is preparing for the release of his directorial film *Kennedy*, starring Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat. The exact release date for *Bad Cop* will be announced with its trailer soon.
