Kajol and Prabhu Deva are set to reunite on screen for the first time in 27 years in an upcoming high-budget action thriller. This film, marking the Bollywood debut of Telugu filmmaker Charan Tej Uppalapati, is generating significant buzz in the industry.
About the Project
Director Charan Tej Uppalapati is hard at work bringing his vision to life. The film boasts a stellar cast, including Naseeruddin Shah, Samyuktha Menon, Jisshu Sengupta, and Aditya Seal. Notably, this will be the first time Kajol will share the screen with Naseeruddin Shah.
The first schedule of filming has already been completed, and the team is preparing to release the teaser soon. The filmmakers have assembled an impressive technical crew, including GK Vishnu, the cinematographer of “Jawan,” and Navin Nooli, the editor of “Pushpa 2.” The screenplay is crafted by Niranjan Iyengar and Jessica Khurana, with Saahi Suresh handling production design.
Harshavardhan Rameshwar, known for his work on the hit film “Animal” starring Ranbir Kapoor, will compose the film’s music. The project’s title and plot details remain under wraps, but the makers promise that the combination of a talented cast and a top-notch technical crew will make this film one of the most anticipated releases.
A Reunion 27 Years in the Making
Kajol and Prabhu Deva last worked together in the 1997 Tamil film “Minsara Kanavu,” directed by Rajiv Menon. The film, which also starred Arvind Swamy, was a huge success and later released in Hindi as “Sapnay.” It featured the popular song “Chanda Re” and told the story of a girl named Priya, whose childhood friend Thomas falls in love with her as she aspires to become a nun.
Upcoming Projects
Kajol has a busy schedule ahead. She was last seen in an episode of “Lust Stories 2” and has several films in the pipeline, including “Do Patti” with Kriti Sanon, “Sarzameen” with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and a horror film titled “Maa,” currently in production.
Prabhu Deva is also keeping busy with his upcoming film “The Greatest of All Time,” featuring Thalapathy Vijay. This film is set to hit the big screen in September this year.
