Narendra Modi has been sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for a historic third term, matching Jawaharlal Nehru’s record. The grand ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan featured honour guards and drew thousands of attendees. PM Modi wore a white kurta paired with a blue waistcoat for the occasion.

Leading BJP Figures Take Oath
Prime Minister Modi, key BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nitin Gadkari were among the first to be sworn in. The new cabinet includes 30 Cabinet Ministers, supported by 5 Ministers of State with Independent Charge and 36 Ministers of State.

The ceremony was attended by leaders from Bangladesh, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka, though top representatives from China and Pakistan were notably absent. The BJP secured 240 seats in the recent elections, falling short of a majority in the 543-member Lok Sabha. With the backing of its allies, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) reached a total of 293 seats, surpassing the 272-seat majority mark.
