Actress Adah Sharma recently revealed she was diagnosed with endometriosis due to the stress of gaining weight for her role in “Bastar: A Naxal Story.” Over the past year, she had four releases, each requiring different physical transformations, which impacted her health.
For “The Kerala Story,” she needed to look petite, while “Commando” required a muscular build. In “Sunflower,” she had to appear voluptuous, and for “Bastar,” she needed a broad and commanding presence. To gain weight for “Bastar,” she followed a strict diet, consuming 10 to 12 bananas daily and other high-calorie foods, while performing physically demanding action scenes.

The role caused severe back problems and stress, leading to endometriosis, which made her periods last for 48 days. Despite this, she had to quickly lose weight for her next role as a bar dancer. With the help of her trainer mother, she followed a vegan diet and practiced yoga, dance, and mallakhamba to get back in shape without high-impact cardio due to her back issues.
Sharma emphasized the importance of mental control, noting that stress can severely impact physical health. Despite the challenges, she finds the physical transformations gratifying and loves immersing herself fully in her roles. She will next be seen in “The Game of Girgit.”
